 Sunday, April third the Avalanche Peewee Major team faced off against the LA Hockey Club for a National Championship in Fairbanks, AK. They wasted no time in taking the lead as Rocco Miano and Liam McKillop scored in the first minute with assists from Alex Hagen and Charlie Orzetti. LA tied it by the end of the first but couldn't handle the Avalanche in the second and third.
Goals by Charlie Orzetti (assisted by John Parker and Kevin Clare), Joe Rausch (assisted by Kevin Clare and Tyler Bishop), and Alex Hagen (assisted by Mike Ciotti and Brandon Moore) in the second period quickly put LA back on their heals and the Avalanche never looked back.The third period looked a lot like the second with the Avalanche scoring three more goals: Charlie Orzetti from Bennett Carroccio, Kevin Clare (SH), and John Parker from Kevin Clare and Michael Pirovano. Jonathan Drago made 25 saves in the win. |
