Quebec Peewee Tournament
This year for the first time the Ice House Avalanche Peewee Major team coached by John Picinic and Ben Mattessich is participating in this tournament. The team finished the week 3-1 with wins over Moncton and Val D'Or Foreurs and Anchorage. Their only loss came to Moscow 4-3. AAA Major team at Nationals in Lawrence, MA
The Peewee Major team coached by John Picinic and Ben Mattessich is participating in the USA Hockey National Championships this week. The team finished the preliminary round 1-1-1 with a win over the Connecticut Wolves 3-2, a 3-2 loss to Alaska and a 2-2 tie against the Chicago Mission. They advanced to the Quarterfinals but lost to Compuware. The team had a tremendous season and did a great job at Nationals. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments.
The Ice House Avalanche were founded in 1997 with the opening of the Ice House. The club has grown from 9 independent teams to 17 Tier II teams and 8 Tier I teams. The Avalanche have continually sent teams to New Jersey Youth League and Atlantic Youth Hockey League Playoffs as well as Atlantic District Playoffs. In just 7 years 2 of our teams have qualified for the National Championships including this year’s National Champion Peewee Major team.
