Figure Skating Conditioning

Figure Skating is a dynamic and precise sport requiring strength, power, balance, flexibility, coordination, and conditioning. In order to meet the physical demands of this sport you need to be in peak condition. If you are serious about improving your ability, the year round programs at the APC are designed to help you maximize your potential as a figure skater.

Initial performance / musculoskeletal evaluation
Individualized training program focusing on:

  • Core Strength / Balance Training
  • Upper & Lower Body Strength
  • Explosive Jumping Power

  • General Nutritional Counseling

Off Ice Dance Program

Ballet, Stretch, and Pilates

with Christine Devito

In her formal years of training Ms. Devito studied with dancers from the New York City and CLeveland Ballet Companies.  She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre with a Minor in DIrecting from the Boston Conservatory of Music, and has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.  Her Broadway credits include: Jerome Robbin's Broadway, Cats, Hello Dolly!, The Wizard of Oz, and the National Tour of Beauty and the Beast.  Ms. Devito has been teaching Dance and Theatre in Bergen County since 2000.  Trained by Power Pilates in New York City, Christine is also certified to teach Pilates mat classes.   

Offering Ballet, Pilates mat, and Stretch in classes or Private Sessions for $80 per hour.  To arrange a lesson please contact het at 201-914-6502

Ms. Devito will use her years of experience as a professional dancer to enhance your off ice training, and bring style and grace to your on ice programs.

Ballet

Basic Ballet Training is the foundationa of all dance styles and essential to performing choreography with artistic integrity.  Ballet increases muscle tone, flexibility, improves posture and grace of movement. *Ballet classes will be 60 minutes

Choreography Coaching

In private session, we can rehearse on or off the ice.  Bringing grace, style, musicality, and ahigher level of performance to your skating programs.

Pilates

Pilates is a unique exercise system focused on flexibilty and strength of the entire body.  By developing core muscles, Pilates corrects poor posture and lowers risk of injury. *Pilates classeswill be 45 minutes

Stretch

Stretch class will combine elements from dance and yoga for a head to toe flexibility session.  *Stretch classes will be 45 miutes

9 Week Session
$170 for Ballet
$150 for Pilates and Stretch
