The Ice House Adult League is designed to provide a safe and sportsmanlike environment in which hockey players of all abilities can enjoy the competition and camaraderie of organized hockey.  Our league, for players 18 and over, is split into 8 divisions to ensure a level playing environment for everyone.  Our top Division features some of the areas best adult hockey players, while our Division 8 provides an avenue for beginner players to hone their skills.

  • A $2000 deposit or payment in full is required with registration. Pay online with Credit Card no later than April 22, 2021. The registration portal closes on April 22 or when the league is full, whichever comes first. The league is typically full before the registration deadline.

  • Teams that are paid in full by April 8 are entitled to 1 FREE practice. Once registration with full payment is received, you will be emailed available practice dates/times. These free practices are only available between April 26 & May 13.

  • Team coordinators are responsible for collecting any remaining balance, due by June 30, 2021.

  • Once divisions are finalized, you will be emailed a USER NAME and PASSWORD to input and manage your team roster online. You will be required to enter each player’s name, jersey #, position, date of birth, and email address. Changes to the roster can be made up until June 17, 2021, at which point rosters will be frozen.  (Rosters are limited to 18 skaters and two goalies) For questions about inputting your roster, divisional structure or team placement please contact Bart Crum  -

  • All players must register with USA Hockey and show proof of registration to the Hockey Office.

  • The league will follow USA Hockey's new standard of play and rules enforcement. To learn about this please visit the link at the top of this page.

  • Fighting will not be tolerated. A THREE Game suspension will be issued to the instigator of a fight. A second fighting penalty will result in automatic suspension for that player from all ice house leagues for that season and possibly beyond.  The player who fights BUT was not the instigator may face the same punishment if the game officials  deem his response overly aggressive. DO NOT FIGHT

  • A game ejection will be assessed to a player whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the safety of other players or a travesty of the game.. A game ejection does not entail an additional game suspension. It is a method by which an individual can be removed from a game in order to diffuse a potentially dangerous situation.

  • If a player receives 4 penalties in a game that player is ejected from that game and will receive an additional 1 game suspension. suspension. No player needs to serve that minor penalty, but the team will play shorthanded.  Double minors and misconducts count towards the total.  Delayed penalties resulting in a goal will still be recorded.

  • A major penalty (5 minutes on the clock) will be assessed for any DELIBERATE infraction that results in an injury or is determined by an official to be so violent that  minor is deemed insufficient.

  • A game misconduct will be issued concurrently with any major penalty. A game misconduct entails a suspension from Ice House league play in all divisions until the conclusion of the next game played in the division in which the suspension was issued. If a player plays in multiple divisions that player may miss multiple games. If you are suspended on Monday you cannot play on Tuesday.

  • Teams do not have to put any one in the penalty box to serve a major penalty. The team will play with 4 skaters for the duration of the penalty and a fifth skater will come off the bench after the major expires.

  • If a goaltender receives a game misconduct the officials can decide if he is to be dismissed from the game. If the officials believe that the goaltender was not the INSTIGATOR and is of no further threat he may remain in goal for the good of the game. 5 minutes will go on the clock and the goaltender will be suspended for the next game.

  • If a player drops his/her gloves or removes his/her helmet in preparation for an altercation, that player will receive at least a game ejection even if there is no altercation.

  •  Any player who skates under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be ejected immediately and face supplementary discipline, which may include expulsion. For safety sake, players are urged to make officials aware of these situations.

  • In order to compete in the playoffs a player must play in half of a team’s regular season games.

  • If a player is removed from a game that player is not to return to the arena for any reason. The player is to either remain in the locker room or leave the building. Failure to comply can only result in further disciplinary action.

  • A suspended player is not allowed on the bench for any reason

  • The league office will review repeat offenders and assess additional suspensions or expulsion if necessary.

  • Players should help the referees with goals scored and who received the assists.  Please check after each game to make sure you received credit for games played.  The Ice House Staff will not change goals and assists once the game is complete.

Team Captain & Referee Responsibilities

  • All teams must have matching jerseys with a unique number. If both teams wear the same color the VISITING team will wear an alternate jersey.

  • All players on a given roster must be 18 years of age or older by the first game of the season.

  • A player may not be on two rosters in the same division

  • Rosters must be submitted using the online registration process prior to your first game including : Name

    • Number

    • Position

    • Email address

    • Date of birth

  • Changes to a team's roster may be made until the published date listed on the season's application. User Names and Passwords will be issued each season once divisions are set so team captains may enter their roster. Log in information is reset every season listed on the season's application.   • Rosters are uploaded onto the computers the morning of the game so roster needs to be accurate as of 24 hours prior to a team's game. Changes after 24 hours need to be approved by the league office.

  • No player may be hand written on your team's roster sheet without prior approval from the league office. Players hand written in without league approval will result in the forfeiture of that game.

  • Player game check-in procedure: Immediately following the end of second period ALL PLAYERS must sit on the bench. If the players stay on the ice the officials may charge the team(s) with a minor penalty for delay of game. The official will go down the bench asking each player in attendance - LAST NAME / NUMBER. After the referee completes the check -team captain or alternate will cross off from the printed roster with the referee, the players who were not in attendance for that game and initial the game sheet. ONLY THE PLAYERS IN ATTENDANCE GET CREDIT FOR GAME PLAYED.ALL PLAYERS MUST PLAY IN HALF OF THE TEAMS GAME TO BE ELIGBLE FOR THE PLAYOFFS. Scorekeeper will then input the rosters into the system. Please check after the game on our website to verify that no errors were made. You must let Tom Preville know of any discrepancies within 48 hours at IF FOR ANY REASON THE OFFICIALS DO NOT USE THE PROPER PROCEDURE PLEASE INFORM TOM ASAP.

  • Illegal player: Only players in good standing on the 20 man roster are eligible. If a team is caught using an illegal player, TEAM FORFEITS THE GAME AND TEAM CAPTAINS PLAYING PRIVILGES WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR THE SEASON.

  • Only non-rostered goaltenders can play without a forfeit resulting, providing the hockey office was notified of the situation prior to the game.

  • Each team is allowed a 30 second time-out.

  • No player is allowed on the ice or in the player bench area until the zamboni doors are closed.

  • Games will consist of 3 periods of 15 minutes stop time.

  • Games will begin promptly with as few as 3 players on the ice for a given team.

  • Any penalty assessed during or after the post-game handshake will be a game misconduct.

  • Any player who skates under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be ejected immediately and face supplementary discipline, which may include expulsion. For safety sake, players are urged to make officials aware of these situations.

  • If a player leaves the bench during an altercation that player will receive a game misconduct.

  • Alcoholic beverages on the bench will result in a forfeit.
